On Tuesday, 22 November 2022, Johnny Kollin was invited to meet with His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, as part of a business delegation led by Her Excellency Ms Liselott Andersson, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the UAE.
They discussed ways to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between Sweden, Swedish businesses and UAE across various sectors. Kollin commended His Highness on the progress made in Ras Al Khaimah in the government’s fiscal management and the economic resilience shown over the last few years. They also discussed the importance of managing risk and uncertainty when the Emirate continues to deliver on its long-term vision.

The visit was part of a larger initiative by the Embassy of Sweden to learn more about the Northern emirates and exchange views on the potential for collaboration as they continue to deliver on their long-term development plans. The delegation comprised a select group of business executives from various industries, representing companies such as Epiroc, Ericsson, and Gulf Rock Engineering.
After the visit to the palace, the delegation met with His Excellency Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ras al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and his team, along with the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone.
